kiwican leadership

Keesarla searching for items in the minefieldThese team mates are communicating while their blindfolded team mate needed to be directed. Do you think the blind folder person will see them pointing?
Our topic for KiwiCan this term is Leadership. This week we talked about the qualities of a Leader. This is what we thought a good leader's qualities should be....

  • respect your team

  • be on time

  • care for your team

  • give everyone a turn

  • co operate

  • listen to there team mates

  • respect

  • communication
We played a game that used both leadership skills and communication skills.
it was fun (and loud!)

Wai Learner Assembly

Today we were very excited when our own Kate was announced as the

Learning Team Three Wai Learner for term three.

This is a very special occassion as it only happens once a term. We all cheered.

We had written down who we thought should be the Wai Learner and wrote reasons why we thought Kate should be.

We think Kate is happy, helpful and extremely motivated. She has great manners and asks curious questions. She is respectful to everyone and is reflective about her learning.

Yay Kate you rock!

Have you read this book?

As part of our book week Mr Willers read his favourite book to us.
It was really funny and a bit different to what we read now days!
We all learnt some interesting words

Thanks for coming to see us.

Camp+ earthquakes

Sadly Year 5\6 camp has been cancelled because of the Christchurch earthquake.
We were going to Ferrymead but the bridge & barn were destroyed.
We were also meant to go to Pioneer Woman's Memorial track, visit the Early European Musem and go swimming.
We felt both sad and relieved about camp.
Hopefully we will go on another camp in Term Four.
In our class we are luckily enough to have four students from CHCH. We like having them in our class and are glad they are safe in Timaru.
